MNEMOSYNE MÄP-RÄP-PÄNEL-LÄB, a limited edition created on the occasion of the first online cycle of MNEMOSYNE-LÄB. With contributions by Julia Dubsky, Sarah Lehnerer, Birigt Megerle, Robert Müller, Philipp Schwalb, Philipp Simon, Regine Steenbock and Ulrich Wulff.
With most of our projects we are lucky enough to be able to experiment and always try something new. Whether it works out in the end or not. In this case, Letraset meets Office Offset.
The idea is simple. Creating an analogue design by rubbing the Letraset letters directly onto the printing plate. In my mind, a straightforward process. Not least because vinyl letters work wonderfully as a printing layer.
Unfortunately, it did not work. At first it seemed promising, but then two big problems occurred. Firstly, the Letraset adhesive also transferred to the printing plate which caused a really smutchy print result. Secondly, the Letraset letters did not stand up to the fountain solution. They simply fell off. Maybe I give it a second chance. At least it was worth the fun.
